“MGALOBLISHVILI KIPIANI DZIDZIGURI” (MKD) ACTED AS LEGAL COUNSEL TO EBRD & IFC

Mgaloblishvili Kipiani Dzidziguri (MKD) recently acted as legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation advising them on restructuring under finance documents and security structure as a result of change of shareholders’ structure in TAV Urban Georgia, - the operator of the Tbilisi International Airport.

MKD’s transaction team was lead by Victor Kipiani and further assisted by Natalia Babakishvili and Giorgi Kankava. 

The deal was specific in terms of undergoing required changes to shareholders’ structure but still keeping the previously agreed security ranking of IFCs. Working on the deal has also encompassed smooth coordination of English, Turkish and Georgian counsels without interrupting activities of the operator and, most importantly, preserving interests of the lenders as there were documented at the very onset of the financing.
